AI Wiki Compiler

An LLM-powered personal knowledge base system, inspired by Andrej Karpathy's workflow.

LLMs compile and maintain your wiki. You rarely touch it manually.

Overview

Collect raw data (articles, papers, screenshots, datasets), let an LLM compile it into a structured Markdown wiki, then query and enhance it over time.

raw data → LLM compile → .md wiki → LLM query → output

Features

  • Data Ingest — Import web articles, papers, screenshots into raw/
  • LLM Compilation — Auto-generate structured wiki with concepts, articles, backlinks
  • Q&A — Ask complex questions against your wiki, get cited answers
  • Output Generation — Render answers as Markdown, Marp slides, or charts
  • Health Checks — Detect broken links, duplicates, orphaned articles
  • Obsidian Compatible — All .md files with [[wikilink]] syntax

Quick Start

  1. Clone this repo and open with Obsidian
  2. Add source materials to raw/<topic>/
  3. Run the compilation workflow
  4. Ask questions against your wiki

Scripts

Script Purpose
wiki-search.py Full-text search over wiki files
wiki-lint.py Health checks (broken links, duplicates, orphans)
wiki-index.py Auto-generate INDEX.md, SUMMARY.md, STATS.md

Usage with Claude Code

Drop SKILL.md and scripts/ into ~/.claude/skills/llm-knowledge-base/ to use as a Claude Code skill.

Trigger with natural commands:

  • "ingest <topic>" — Import source materials
  • "compile wiki" — Build wiki from raw data
  • "ask: <question>" — Q&A against wiki
  • "health check" — Run lint checks
  • "generate slides: <topic>" — Output Marp slides
